Proton Hybrid Concept
Proton Hybrid Concept on display at the exhibition and the Geneva Motor Show.
The five-door concept, and its Italdesign-styled exterior, will be a departure from Lotus’ sports car production. This Proton is a small, five-door urban vehicle capable of limited all-electric use. It features a three-cylinder 1.2-liter Range Extender engine, seen last year at Frankfurt, which can recharge the battery if needed. The battery sends power to the motor and its single-speed transmission.
“Our collaboration with Lotus and Italdesign on progressive technology and design will further propel our competitiveness in the world market,” said Proton Holdings Berhad Group executive Dato’ Haji Syed Zainal Abidin B Syed Mohamed Tahir (we’re not sure if he has a nickname). “Through this association, we strive to acquire and jointly develop new knowledge, skills and technologies that will ultimately benefit our customers.”
Visitiors to the Geneva show will be able to view the Proton Hybrid Concept at the Italdesign stand.
